How It Works
Making your own bubbly, gut-friendly soda at home is simple, fun, and pretty hard to mess up. Here's everything you do, start to sip.
Six little steps
From spice to soda in about two days
Only about 20 minutes of hands-on time. Your ginger bug does the rest of the work for you.
Wake up your ginger bug
Your kit comes with a living ginger bug. Give it a little sugar and water and watch it start to bubble. That means it is awake, happy, and ready to make soda.
Make your flavor
Pick a soda spice and simmer it on the stove for about 20 minutes to make a tasty tea. Stir in some sugar, then let it cool down.
Mix it together
Pour your cooled flavor tea into the jar with your bubbly ginger bug. Give it a stir. That is it - your soda is now alive and brewing.
Let it bubble
Cover the jar with the cloth and let it sit on the counter for 2 to 3 days. Your ginger bug eats the sugar and fills the soda with natural fizz.
Bottle it up
Pour your soda into the swing-top bottles and snap them shut. The closed lid traps the bubbles so your soda gets nice and fizzy.
Chill and sip
Leave the sealed bottles out for a day or two to build bubbles, then pop them in the fridge. Once cold, open one up and enjoy your very own craft soda!
