Terms of Service

These terms apply when you visit our website, place an order, or otherwise use any service offered by Sandpoint Soda Company (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using this site or buying from us, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. Who can buy

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter a binding contract to place an order. By ordering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you’re buying for personal, non-commercial home use.

2. Products

We sell craft soda-making kits, dehydrated and live cultures, spices, accessories, and a digital recipe ebook. Product descriptions are accurate to the best of our knowledge. Photographs are illustrative; small variations between batches are expected and are part of the nature of small-batch production.

3. Live cultures & consumption

Our products contain live microbial cultures intended for home fermentation. They’re meant for people who are comfortable following our written guidance. Home-fermented beverages carry the normal risks of any fermented food. Pregnant, nursing, or immunocompromised individuals - and anyone with a health condition - should consult a healthcare provider before consuming home-fermented drinks.

4. Pricing and payment

All prices are in U.S. dollars. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase information. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, refuse or cancel an order, and update pricing at any time. Your order is billed at the price shown at checkout, and payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe).

5. Orders, fulfillment, and shipping

We ship within the United States only. See our Shipping & Returns page for transit times, rates, and our return policy. Title and risk of loss pass to you when we hand the order to the carrier.

6. Digital products

Our recipe ebook is a digital product delivered electronically. Because it’s available immediately, all ebook sales are final and non-refundable once access is delivered.

7. The culture guarantee

If your ginger bug doesn’t activate within thirty days of receipt, we’ll replace it free of charge. See the guarantee page for details.

8. Disclaimers

Products are provided “as is” and “as available” for personal home use, without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded under law. Statements about health benefits have not been evaluated by the FDA. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sandpoint Soda Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or this site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant order.

10. Intellectual property

All content on this site - text, photographs, recipes, and design - is the property of Sandpoint Soda Company unless otherwise noted. You may share your own photos and your soda-making results freely; please credit us when you share our recipes or content.

11. Acceptable use

Please don’t misuse the site - no attempts to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, resell our products without permission, or use it for anything unlawful.

12. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute comes up, let’s try to sort it out directly first - email us and we’ll do our best to make it right. Any dispute that can’t be resolved informally will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Bonner County, Idaho, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Electronic communications

When you order or contact us, you consent to receive communications from us electronically (email and on-site messages), and you agree that electronic agreements and notices satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

14. Changes & severability

We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest of these terms remain in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between us regarding your use of the site and products.
